Welcome to Bourneblue Dog Training
Helping owners create a communication system that creates clarity and confidence.
From “Don’t worry, he’s friendly!”… to Bourneblue Dog Training
In 2019 I brought home my first dog, Benson. Like many new owners, I quickly became the person shouting “Don’t worry, he’s friendly!” while my dog ran over to greet everyone. During lockdown I decided it was time to properly learn how to train my dog and understand how dogs really learn. That decision sparked a passion for dog training. Benson’s Kennel Club name was Bourneblue, and I remember saying one day I’d start my own dog training business with that name. Sadly I lost Benson in a tragic car accident when he was five. Not long after, Junior came into my life and helped mend a very broken heart. Today Bourneblue exists because of Benson, and my goal is to help owners build better communication with their dogs.
The Bourneblue Ethos
At Bourneblue Dog Training, I believe that great training starts with clear communication. When dogs understand what we’re asking of them, learning becomes calmer, clearer and far more effective for both dog and owner. Fulfilment is also a key part of the picture. Many behaviour challenges come from dogs not having the right outlets for their natural instincts. Through play and meaningful engagement, dogs can channel their energy in positive ways that support both their wellbeing and their training. My approach focuses on helping dogs and their owners understand each other better... building clarity, confidence and a stronger partnership that lasts beyond the training session.
